October and November events

September 25, 2019

Tickets are on sale for the last two Lock-up open days of 2019 - October 12th and November 9th. October 12th will see the usual museum display, uniform to try on, quiz and fingerprinting for children. There are lots of items available in our shop for guests to find a souvenir from their visit or consider buying one of our history books to continue finding out about the vast history of policing across the West Midlands. All money from the day goes to support our fundraising to convert the Lock-up into the new West Midlands Police Museum.

There will be an evening talk on October 12th from 5-7pm where retired officer Bill Gwilt will tell the hilarious tale of trying to contain the visit of President Bill Clinton, working with the FBI who were frantically trying to identify safe areas for the president to go, when all he wanted to do was take a stroll and go for lunch somewhere nice! 'A Lunch of a Lifetime' is a talk not to be missed!

November 9th will see our last open day of the year and there will be a specific focus on forensics at this open day, with opportunities for visitors to find out more about forensic techniques and budding forensic detectives to try out their skills.

Tickets for all these events can be purchased from: www.wmpeelers.com/the-lock-up
