Lock-up Update and Behind Bars

Summer is finally here but there is no rest for the Lock-up! Activities are planned throughout the summer with a police strike themed open day and evening talk on Saturday 3rd August and a summer holiday open day on Wednesday 21st August as well as numerous private group bookings. Tickets for our events can be purchased here:

Behind the scenes we are also working very hard on our National Heritage Lottery Fund application where we aim to secure the funding to convert the Lock-up into the permanent West Midlands Police Museum. We will keep you updated about our progress via WMPeelers and our other social media channels on Facebook and Twitter.

We have been very busy in July hosting the amazing Behind Bars: Ghosts of the Lock-up performances, which have brought to life characters from the Lock-up's past to hundreds of visitors. This is the second time they have put on these shows, after the initial ones in 2018 sold out and received rave reviews. The final shows are Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July - Saturday has pretty much sold out but Sunday has some tickets left for 11am, 2pm and 5pm. To find out more about the shows, Radio WM's Sunny and Shay interviewed director and Bold Text writer Tim Stimpson and you can hear the interview below:
