SC Frank James Cook

The bombing overnight on the 9th/10th April was one of the most intense air raids experienced by Birmingham. Five police officers lost their lives in the city that night. Special Constable D116 Frank James Cook was killed with his wife Mabel and their three day old son Geoffrey, who is believed to be the youngest victim of the Blitz. They had gone to Mabel’s family home and her father was also killed during the raid when a bomb fell on their house in Craddock Road.
